Throughout the year I offer short Yoga courses which focus on a particular theme depending on the time of the year. Each course runs between 4-8 weeks with classes held at DownDog Studio, Charles Street, St Helier.

Spring Renewal: Moving with Change and Cultivating Growth

Therapeutic Yoga: Healing from the Inside Out

A holistic yoga experience designed to transition from winter's introspection to spring's vibrant growth, integrating subtle Chinese medicine principles, yogic philosophy, and mindful personal development.

8-Week Course Outline:

Each week will focus on a unique theme tied to personal growth, offering a blend of movement, breathwork, and reflective exercises to help you find balance, clarity, and purpose.

Week 1: Awakening & Releasing

Yoga Philosophy: Aparigraha (Non-attachment)

Practice Focus: Gentle twists and releasing movements

Journal Prompt:

  • Reflect on winter's emotional and physical residue

  • What are you ready to release?

  • Where do you notice stagnation in your body and life?

  • Explore the parallel between physical tension and emotional holding

Week 2: Foundations of Growth

Yoga Philosophy: Sankalpa (Intention Setting)

Practice Focus: Grounding standing poses and Mulabhanda activation

Chinese Medicine Insight: Liver meridian and spring's energy

Journal Prompt:

  • What seeds of intention are you planting?

  • Identify three sustainable goals that align with your deeper values

  • How can your yoga practice support these intentions?

  • Explore the connection between your physical foundation and life goals

Week 3: Expanding Boundaries

Yoga Philosophy: Svadhyaya (Self-Study)

Practice Focus: Heart openers and shoulder mobility

Journal Prompt:

  • What personal boundaries are you ready to expand?

  • Explore a limiting belief about your potential

  • How does physical flexibility in your practice mirror psychological flexibility?

  • Identify one area where you're willing to be vulnerable and grow

Week 4: Balanced Effort

Yoga Philosophy: Abhyasa and Vairagya (Consistent Practice and Non-Attachment)

Practice Focus: Balance poses and core engagement

Journal Prompt:

  • Where in your life are you pushing too hard or not hard enough?

  • Reflect on the balance between effort and surrender

  • How can you cultivate sustainable momentum in your personal growth?

  • Explore the parallels between wobbling in a balance pose and navigating life's challenges

Week 5: Emotional Fluidity

Yoga Philosophy: Brahmacharya (Mindful Energy Management)

Practice Focus: Hip mobilisers and fluid movement sequences

Journal Prompt:

  • What emotional patterns are you ready to transform?

  • Explore the relationship between physical and emotional mobility

  • How can you channel your energy more effectively?

  • Identify areas where you feel stuck and imagine flow

Week 6: Inner Strength

Yoga Philosophy: Tapas (Disciplined Commitment)

Practice Focus: Strength-building poses and resilience training

  • How does building physical strength translate to emotional resilience?

Week 7: Integration

Yoga Philosophy: Santosha (Contentment)

Practice Focus: Slow, intentional flow connecting previous weeks' learnings

  • How have your practice and perspective shifted?

  • Celebrate your growth while remaining compassionate with yourself

  • Envision sustainable continuation of your practice

Week 8: Emergence and Continuity

Yoga Philosophy: Ishvara Pranidhana (Surrender and Alignment)

Practice Focus: Intuitive movement, personal sequence creation

Journal Prompt:

  • Create a personal manifesto for continued growth

  • What practices will you carry forward?

  • Visualise yourself six months from now, embodying the lessons of this course

  • Design a compassionate, realistic plan for ongoing personal development.

Fertility

Derived from my own fertility experience, these classes are designed to support both men and women who are experiencing fertility. Whether you are in treatment or about to embark on treatment, these classes are designed to support you throughout your journey.

Our goal is to provide a space where you can tune in to your mind and body and switch off from the mental effort fertility can take. A space for you to rest, relax and tune in to your true self.

Each class will use Mind/Body movement, targeted myofascial release, acupressure points breath work and space for meditation.
